On Monday 23rd June, Sam and Adele had the pleasure of attending the annual Gower College Student Awards – an inspiring evening dedicated to celebrating the outstanding achievements of students from across the college. Held at the Swansea.com Stadium, the event brought together learners, educators, and local partners for a night of recognition, celebration, and reflection on another exceptional academic year.
The event shone a spotlight on the hard work and accomplishments of students from a wide range of courses, including full- and part-time study programmes, apprenticeships, higher education pathways, access to higher education courses, and employability support programmes.
Back by popular demand, local favourite Kev Johns MBE returned to host the evening with his trademark warmth, humour and obligatory tradesman joke! His energy and enthusiasm helped set the tone for a joyful and uplifting celebration.
Throughout the evening, guests were treated to a series of fantastic performances by students, highlighting the incredible creative talent nurtured at the college. From powerful musical numbers to moving theatrical pieces, the entertainment was a testament to the passion and skill of the performers.
Sam and Adele were honoured to attend as one of the event’s proud sponsors. After enjoying a beautifully prepared formal meal, they were invited to take to the stage and present one of the awards – a truly memorable moment. It was a privilege to help recognise the achievements of such hardworking and dedicated learners, and to contribute to an event that so clearly means a great deal to the college and wider community.
